Scott Brown: The Anti-Obama

They are both about the same age; both are attorneys, both served as state senators before running for the United States Senate, and both burst onto the national scene out of nowhere. That’s where the similarities end.

Unlike Barack Obama—already a failed president barely a year into office—Scott Brown is now the last hope of the American People to prevent Harry, Nancy and Barry from seizing one-sixth of the economy and making micro-decisions affecting your healthcare.

The Democrat healthcare juggernaut, first put into drive last summer, has shown no sign of slowing despite Americans being against it by an overwhelming plurality. Last August’s town-hall meetings would have ordinarily derailed Nancy and the House of Representatives from continuing this unpopular movement, but obviously the Democrats know better.

The Senate continued the House’s proclivity to pass this legislation in the middle of the night—the last Senate vote occurring the morning before Christmas on their way out of town.

Instead of the open-debate of conference committees to reconcile the differences between the House and Senate versions of ObamaCare, the troika has elected to “ping-pong” the legislation back and forth behind closed doors and not allow the public to see what is going on.

When the despicable Ted Kennedy finally died 40 years after ending Mary Jo Kopechne’s life in order not to damage his domestic and political affairs, the Massachusetts legislature quickly appointed a seat-warmer to maintain the Senate’s Democrat supermajority.

State Attorney General Martha Coakley was selected to carry on Ted’s legacy—if not his criminal past—and looked like a shoe-in until Scott Brown’s campaign went national. Brown presented himself as more than just a candidate for the Senate. He presented himself as the Republican 41st vote to end the Democrats’ 60 vote supermajority and derail the socialist juggernaut started last summer.

Scott Brown’s campaign caught fire, and he burned brighter with every gaffe that Coakley made—and she made plenty. Brown soon became the White Knight who could actually pull this off—a Republican winning the Massachusetts Senate race—and ride to the rescue of the majority of all Americans who wish to make their own healthcare decisions; as well as look out for their own affairs in all facets of life.

Yesterday, Brown was polling as many as nine points ahead of Coakley. This one Senate race is generating more excitement than most of last year’s presidential primaries. If Scott Brown does pull this one off, there indeed is hope for the future.
